NewsDistrict Council UpdateJune 6, 2007
It is amazing that we are approaching the middle of 2007 and so much has occurred in our District Council. As we send out our third newsletter, we are also launching a new and updated ULI San Diego/Tijuana website www.sandiego.uli.org. This has been months in the making and we owe a great debt of gratitude to Francie Murphy, our Vice Chair of Communications, and to Urban Insight, our new webmaster. On our new site you can find current ULI events, a roster of members and a streamlined process to register for our ever-growing list of events. Please share this link with your colleagues both in and out of the real estate industry. As we look to summer, we have a number of exciting programs. This week, we host the first of our evening social events. Starting at 5:00 p.m. on June 6, Cisterra Partners is giving us a special behind the scenes tour of DiamondView Tower. Then we get to watch the Padres and Dodgers from the 15th floor deck. In addition to being one of downtown’s newest office/mixed use developments, DiamondView is in the Ballpark and Neighborhood Revitalization Project that was just awarded a 2007 Award of Excellence by ULI. In July, our Tuesday morning program will return to the University Club where we will host the Honorable Jerry Sanders, mayor of San Diego. This is a members-only event, so now is the time to join us at www.sandiego.uli.org. And, we have some new additions to our Executive Committee: Katie Yee of Fuscoe Engineering (Sponsorship Chair), Carlos de la Mora of Nolte de Mexico and Alejandra Zazueta of The London Group (Cross-Border Co-Chairs). Finally, we are pushing to have 1,000 members by the end of June (currently we have 850). As part of this membership drive, we are waiving ULI’s processing fee and all new members can attend a ULI Breakfast on us—a $40 value. If you are not already a member, now is the time to join! |
