The fourth annual Urban Land Institute San Diego/Tijuana Real Estate Trends Conference on Nov. 13 -- the Dollars and Sense of Sustainability -- will explore the issues surrounding sustainability and focus on how communities are gearing up for more green development using innovative land planning and creative financing. ULI v.p. Dean Schwanke will deliver the Urban Land Institute's Emerging Trends 2007 national report, joined by USD economist Alan Gin, who will comment on the local economic outlook. The conference will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Hilton Torrey Pines, 10950 North Torrey Pines Road in La Jolla .

Hunter Lovins, founder of National Capitalism Inc, is keynote speaker. Named a “Hero for the Planet” by Time magazine, Lovins works with corporations and governments worldwide to develop and implement sustainable energy and resource systems. Other confirmed speakers include: Matt Litucy, Jay Paul Co.; Jonathan Bradhurst, Westfield; Jim Alderman, Starwood 1; Barry Howard, Fairfield Housing; Gary Jakobs, EDAW; Sandy Goldberg, state of California; David Osias, Allen Matkins; and Sarah Gardner, National Public Radio
