A panel of retail experts will explore the characteristics of today’s successful urban retail and the elements sought by retailers, customers and developers during a May 13 program sponsored by the Urban Land Institute San Diego/Tijuana. It will be held from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the University Club at

750 B St.
, Downtown. The panel will share examples of urban retail successes and disappointments from other cities and evaluate the fundamentals of San Diego ’s urban retail market.

Panelists include Trace Wilson, development director of the Westfield Corp.; Margaret "Midge" McCauley, principal of Economics Research Associates; and Brad Geier, chairman of Merlone Geier Partners. Thomas Sudberry Jr., president of Sudberry Properties, will act as moderator.
