2008 is already off to a fantastic start and we would like to thank our members and sponsors for their continuous support of our organization. The Executive Committee has planned some innovative programs for the coming months and we hope you have the opportunity to participate and learn something new.
We are proud to announce that the 4th Annual Smart Growth Awards will be held June 26th at the recently renovated Balboa Theater at Horton Plaza. We will be honoring our region's professionals and their initiatives for implementing sustainable practices into development, residential communities and future land use programs. This year, we will be offering nomination forms on our web site for electronic submission which will be due by May 1st. Young Leaders
The Young Leaders launched the 2008 Partnership Forums on February. 26th. There are a total of 133 Young Leader participants divided into seven forums. These forums were guided by moderators: Ian Gill, Russ Haley, Donna Alm, Lin Martin, Jim Torti, Mark Steele, Frank Wolden and Larry Clemens. The forums were designed to explore land use and industry related issues, policies, best practices and skill sets to help Young Leaders gain an edge in their careers.
